Poor installation of my hardwood floors - installers with Southwestern Floors Horrible

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Poor installation that Southwestern floors did on my hardwood floors, the 1 year warranty that Beazer offers is crap.

They take your money and wipe there hands off the problem, in the first year not much goes wrong because everything is new. However, anything past that 1 year marker you notice that things to expand whether its due to moisture or cheap glue used on hardwood floors.

The heads of each of my edgeheads of each wood floor plank are pushing up against each other, plus there are hollow noises when touching the wood planks. The delay in getting the vendors to come out to your house is unreasonable, the excuses from the warranty rep "nothing more I can do" is ridiculous, I spend over half a million on my house, brand new built and now after a year and half the floorboards are pushing up and of course Beazer, nor Southwestern Floors nor Mohawk want to take on the claim to provide warrantly.

House is making us sick

Original review Feb 02, 2024

House is not year old yet.

We have found leaking windows and patio does during final walk through. They can not find the leaks and just painted over the issues saying all good.

NOT ALL GOOD. We have found Mold in our house and have had a few test done that confirm Mold. This has put us in the ER a few times because of it due to health issues.

Beazer came out and did an "air test" and said everything was fine. I have my own lab results from private company who said otherwise.

Beazer is not caring nor doing anything to fix this.

We are getting sick and our health is at risk

Just buy this POS house back since you can't build anything right nor do what is ethically right about a serious issue.

Trash inside the walls and bathroom air vent not to anything

Beazer Homes - Trash inside the walls and bathroom air vent not to anything
Our house was built 17yrs ago we recently had pipe problems that we had to repipe the whole house. When the plumber cut the wall on the tub area we found TRASH inside the wall!! A couple of years ago we also found out that the air vent in our bathroom was just left unattached laying on top of the bathroom ceiling/attic area! Luckily our handyman was able to create *** on the side of our house and was able to direct that vent out!

New home purchase

I am writing to make known my discontent for a new purchase I made. The house was a year and 3 months old, hence the one-year warranty was exhausted.

There was a severe and heavy rainstorm at the beginning of May that caused a leak into the wall of my den, the room facing the street. It was not related to the roof being damaged. As it was out of warranty I was told that I was responsible to be checking the caulk around the windows. However this is a ridiculous expectation to be checking and recaulking the exteriors windows on a NEW build so early on, interior I understand.

I had to employ a leak detection company who inspected the windows and found several cracks in the mortar and areas never sealed or not sealed appropriately to begin with. The cheap silicone used was just lathered around certain areas of the windows. I did bring this up to the warranty person and mentioned it months before my warranty expired, however they said that they really shouldn't be doing that that it was my responsibility . When I pointed out that it was in fact areas that were missing to begin with they "did me the favor" to seal the windows on the bottom floor.

The upstairs outer windows, lentils were the problem and were not sealed properly or at all. This in turn cost me over $3,000 to reseal every single window on the exterior of the house with durable material and warrantied work.

This shows the poor craftsmanship and detail that was given to this house given the fact that there was a delay in items, brick and such. Quality should have been a factor especially given the fact that this company prides itself on quality. Given the amount of wait time on the build to be completed and money I am paying for this house, I was expecting a better quality build.

When this house was being built every single item that I upgraded to would have been overlooked and not installed had I not been following up weekly.

Early on I had to have them rip *** in my bathroom to fix the wrongly installed rain shower. (Which I had to tell them I had upgraded to when the house was still in studs)

The peace of mind of purchasing a new house is gone as I am now expecting the next thing to come up.

Beazer Home Buyer BEWARE

WARNING: If you are considering a Beazer home, investigate the HVAC enclosures for the home, and talk to the neighbors. I bought a Beazer home 8 years ago, it was 10yrs old at the time so the homeowner warranty has done.

The HVAC was dying when I bought it. Replaced it with a robust unit. Per multiple subject matter experts my new replacement unit that was 7.5yrs old is dead due to poor HVAC and duct work design by Beazer. Unless I rebuild the HVAC storage space and duct work, I will forever have this problem.

Beazer had declined to investigate since they are off the hook legaly. Great to see them standing behind their "quality craftmanship".

User's recommendation: Don't buy Beazer, but if you do have an inspector do fine tooth comb inspection on all aspects of the home.

Warranty Work

Original review Jan 11, 2022
I purchased a new home from Beazer over 8 years ago. About 3 years ago, we experienced serious foundation issues. Jim Shields and his team repaired my home, which was a long and arduous process professionally, on my wife's and my timetable. At every step of the process, they met or exceeded what we needed to be done. We have purchased 4 new homes over the last 25 years, and we know what comes with new home purchases. But while most builders work harder at getting out of fixing the problems, Jim went out of his way to ensure they got fixed the right way. Even minor issues that came up afterwards they have fixed and some they could have told me they weren't going to fix, they did fix.

Preferred solution: Nothing. They did their job to my satisfaction.

User's recommendation: I recommend you purchase a Beazer house just for the customer serivce after the sale.

Poor Building quality, poor costumer service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

We are not so happy with how the builder had been responding to our house issue. This house was built in December 2016.

Within a year of moving, tiles in the kitchen needs constant replacement due to cracks. A few years later, cracks have been visible to one wall of the kitchen to the wall of the other side which is the bedroom, with bigger line of crack in the kitchen dividing the house front/back. However we try to complain, the action is too slow. Adding COVID-19 made the company has more reason not to act.

The house is now reaching 5 years but Beazer had been silent in-spite of our complaints.

If we knew its gonna be like this, we had never signed up with Beazer here in Bonbrook Richmond/Rosenberg. So poor building quality and poor costumer service.

Deception

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
When purchasing this home, the sales people show you a pitcher of this floor plan with the energy usage of about #130.00 a month to operate this home. I have exceeded this by some $60.00 a month and this is keeping my thermostat set at, 85 degrees. How much deception is needed to sell these homes. I paid extra for this, Cocoon Rap, for this house being told it is more efficient. Where?

Plumbing issue

Hi, I have no complaints with any of your local employees. My problem is that I came in my 2 year old home and had a flood on my kitchen floor coming from the kitchen sink.

I did call and my warranty has expired as of March 26, 2021. I did not move in until June 21st 2019, I read in your warranty period standards, "We sometimes break our own rules-IN YOUR FAVOR". I really feel this is the time you should honor the warranty until June 2021. I really think it is just the faucet, leaking from the top of the sink and underneath.

I have lived in homes for 20 years and never had to replace a faucet. I am the only one living there at this time, my husband is still working up North. I have had other problems with my home , driveway had to be completely redone. my whirlpool dishwasher has stopped working , my fridge has had problems, and my microwave shoots sparks, Whirlpool appliances were given as an incentive.

(didn't last too long!

I have not complained to Customer service about anything, but tI am asking that you break your rules and have someone come out to fix it and Beazer cover the cost.

I turned the water off because I have been away, but I really would appreciate a call. Again, I spoke with the local employees and have had no problem with them, they are just doing their job.
